A Few Pints In
A few pints in and I'm staring at Jupiter.
It is not so difficult to tell which one is Jupiter; it is brighter than anything else.
Why does it call me? Is it simply because it is so bright? Am I that fickle?
Stars are so far away, further away than a human mind can comprehend, but it is the failed star in Jupiter breaking through the noise.
I ask all these questions without the prospect of answers. I am trying to be comfortable with no answers.
Deafening introspection.
I see my reflection within the stars, but it is constantly changing. My face is changing. My mind is changing.
A star turns out to be a man-made satellite. A star in the sky that wasn't there before.
It's difficult to separate things that have always been there from the new.
Who am I if the sky can change?
